采用捣固法施工的半湿状态的耐火混合料称为耐火捣打料。与耐火可塑料不同，此类耐火混合料是一种低塑性或无塑性捣固材料，是依靠强制捣固而形成致密体，再经加热烘烤或焙烧发生硬化而获得一定的结构强度。现在捣固法施工的材料，除可塑料(湿式捣打料)和捣打料(半湿式捣打料)外，还有干式捣打料(不含液体的捣打料)，是一种完全无塑性捣打料。

过去耐火捣打料的材质与品种较多，使用范围较广，但由于捣打施工劳动强度大，施工作业时间长，难以获得均匀的整体衬体，已逐渐被其他施工方法的不定行耐火材料所取代。现在使用这种半湿式状态的捣打料场所不多。目前捣打料的主要品种有：铝-镁质捣打料，高铝(或刚玉)-碳化硅-炭质捣打料，碱性耐火捣打料和锆莫来石质捣打料等。

The main varieties of ramming materials are: Aluminum magnesia ramming, high aluminum (or corundum), silicon carbide carbon ramming, basic refractory and ramming.
