丝网除沫器用于分离气体中夹带的液滴，以保证传质效率，降低有价值物料的损失、防止堵塞出口管道、避免危害后续工序和改善设备后的压缩机的操作.上升的液滴靠惯性与丝网碰撞，被丝网拦截；再靠自身的重力下降，并在丝网细丝表面扩散，后在丝网接点处聚集成更大的液滴，回落到设备内。气体通过丝网除沫器后，基本上不含雾沫。
